Secunia Security Specialist

Secunia offers a full time position, where your daily work involves reverse engineering of software and exploit code, auditing of source code, and analysis of vulnerability reports.

You must be fluent in C and English, communicate via TCP, use your debugger and disassembler to find software bugs, and have an in depth understanding of operating system concepts and security models.

It is important that you are experienced in reverse engineering and is profound in C coding. Your experience with reverse engineering and C programming does not need to be work related.

Preferably, you have coded and reverse engineered software on both Windows and Linux or other *BSD and Unix variants.

You will be working in a team with other highly skilled security researchers and developers, who all are happy to share their knowledge and experience about vulnerabilities, exploitation, and programming.

The most important part of the job is to write advisories. Depending on the source of the information, which we base the advisories on, it is necessary to conduct a certain level of verification. In many cases this involves testing the actual vulnerability or exploit on a test system, in other cases it may involve a source code audit.

Based on the conclusions during the verification process it is your responsibility to assess the vulnerability and write a corresponding Secunia Advisory which will be sent to our customers and published on the Secunia website.

The verification process and testing of vulnerabilities is a rather time consuming task, which requires certain disassembly, debugging, and programming skills.
We also put great effort into understanding each product we write about to ensure that we can properly assess the exposure and risk of each reported issue, thus you will also be reading a lot of product documentation and other background information.

Secunia is a highly recognised international IT security company, which currently employs people from Scandinavia, Germany, Finland, The Netherlands, Singapore, Mexico, United Kingdom, and USA.

All employees work at our offices in central Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. The offices are located close to major railway stations.

Corporate language at Secunia is English, thus your written and spoken English must be excellent.
