Description: Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in CyberDOCS, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection and Cross-Site Scripting attacks and gain knowledge of various information.
1) Missing input validation in the login page ("loginact.asp") can be exploited to manipulate existing SQL statements by inserting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation discloses various information but could potentially also allow manipulation of data and execution of arbitrary commands.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 3.1 and 3.5.1.
2) Several web pages return user supplied input without prior sanitation, which can be exploited to conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks against users. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in the context of the CyberDOCS web server.
The vulnerabilities have been reported in versions 3.5.1, 3.9, and 4.0.
3) An error page generated by failed login attempts discloses the absolute installation path of the web root.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 3.1, 3.9, and 4.0.
4) There are insecure default permissions set on several of CyberDOCS's script source code files (".inc"). This can be exploited by anyone to access the files and potentially disclose sensitive information stored in them.
The vulnerability has been reported in versions 3.1, 3.9, and 4.0.
Solution: Update to version 4.0 and apply patch 4:
ftp://ftptlh.hummingbird.com/patches/cyberdocs/cyd40p4.exe
ftp://ftptlh.hummingbird.com/releasenotes/cyberdocs/cyd40p4readme.html
Furtermore, set proper permissions on all unprotected files via the Internet Services Manager.
