Description:
A vulnerability has been identified in Gauntlet Firewall allowing malicious people to crash the SQL-Gateway / Oracle-Proxy service.

The problem is that Gauntlet Firewall only can handle a few invalid requests on port 1521/tcp before the gateway proces crashes.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 6 on Solaris 8. However, other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Ensure that the firewall only accepts connections from hosts intended to make SQL connections. This will limit the exposure of the vulnerability.
