Description: StoneSoft has confirmed the OpenSSH buffer management vulnerability in the StoneGate engine. This can potentially be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or compromise a vulnerable system.
The StoneGate engine is likely also affected by other newly discovered vulnerabilities in OpenSSH. However, this has not been confirmed.

The vulnerability affects StoneGate versions 2.2.1 and prior.
NOTE: The SSH service is not enabled by default, nor does the default firewall rule base allow connections to the service.
Solution: StoneSoft reports that new versions of StoneGate (2.2.2 for Intel and S390 platforms, and 2.0.11 for SPARC platform) will be available on the first week of October 2003.
