Description: IBM has reported a vulnerability in AIX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to escalate their privileges or cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in the lpd service. Users with "printq" group privileges can exploit this to execute arbitrary code with "root" privileges.
The vulnerability affects AIX versions 4.3, 5.1, and 5.2.
