Description: A vulnerability has been identified in spider allowing malicious users to escalate their privileges.
The problem is that it is possible to cause overflows due to improper handling of the environment variables "HOME", "OPENWINHOME", and "XVIEWHOME". This could be exploited to execute arbitrary code with group "games" privileges.
Version 1.1 has been reported vulnerable.
Solution: Remove the setgid bit from "spider". This may impact functionality.
Games should not be installed on production systems.
