Description: A vulnerability have been reported in FTP Desktop, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to boundary errors when handling replies from a FTP server. A malicious server can exploit this by returning overly long, specially crafted replies to a vulnerable client, which will cause a buffer overflow.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code on the client system with the privileges of the user.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.5. However, other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Reportedly, the vendor is working on an updated version, which will be released at:
http://www.ftpdesktop.net/download.html
Only connect to trusted FTP servers.
