Description:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in FTGatePro, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose various information and conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks against users.

1) It is possible to disclose the installation path by connecting to the Web Admin Interface (port 8089/tcp) and request "/utility/wmsecurity.fts". Successful exploitation only requires that a malicious person can connect to the Web Admin Interface. The person doesn't need to be authenticated.

Example:
http://[victim]:8089/utility/wmsecurity.fts

2) Missing validation of input supplied to the "href" parameter in "index.fts" can be exploited to conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks against other visitors.

Successful exploitation can result in disclosure of various information (eg. cookie-based authentication information) associated with the site running FTGatePro or inclusion of malicious content, which the user thinks is part of the real website.

Example:
http://[victim]:8089/help/index.fts?href=<script>alert(document.cookie)</script>

3) It is possible to identify valid user accounts on the mail server. The problem is that the POP3 service returns different replies depending on whether a supplied username is valid or invalid.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.22 (1331) and confirmed in version 1.22 (1335). However, other versions may also be affected.

Solution:
Ensure that only trusted people can connect to the web interface. Use a HTTP proxy or firewall with URL filtering capabilities to filter malicious content. Restrict access to the POP3 service and use strong passwords.

Use another product.
