Description: A vulnerability has been reported in ProductCart, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks against other visitors.
The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in "msg.asp", which can be exploited by supplying script code to the "message" parameter. This script code will be executed in a user's browser session if the user is tricked into clicking a specially crafted link or visiting a malicious website.
Successful exploitation can result in disclosure of various information (eg. cookie-based authentication information) associated with the site running ProductCart or inclusion of malicious content, which the user thinks is part of the real website.
Solution: According to the vendor, this vulnerability has been fixed in versions 1.6 and later.
Provided and/or discovered by: Bosen, 1ndonesian Security Team (1st).
Changelog: 2003-07-09: Vendor states that the vulnerability only is present in versions prior to 1.6.
