|
|
Description: A vulnerability has been reported in pMachine, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.
Input passed to the "pm_path" parameter isn't properly verified in "/pm/lib.inc.php", before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources.
Examples:
http://[victim]/pm/lib.inc.php?pm_path=[file]
http://[victim]/pm/add_ons/mail_this_entry/mail_autocheck.php?pm_path=[file]
Solution: The fix provided in version 2.3 is inadequate as it is still possible to include local files by defining the "pm_path" and "sfx" parameters via e.g. a cookie when "register_globals" is enabled. This has been confirmed in version 2.4.1. Other versions may also be affected.
Update to version 2.3, and set "register_globals" to "Off" or edit the source code to ensure that input is properly verified.
