Description: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in WebBBS Pro, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) on vulnerable systems.
By sending a HTTP request for a ressource with a reserved DOS name (eg. "AUX"), it is possible to cause the server to consume large amounts of CPU ressources. The same can be achieved by sending a request for "*".
Examples:
http://[victim]/*
http://[victim]/AUX
The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.8. Prior versions may also be affected.
Solution: Reportedly, the product no longer seems to be supported. Use another product instead.
