Description: A vulnerability has been identified in Sun Java 1.4.1 on Linux, which allows malicious, local users to escalate their privileges.
The problem is that temporary files are created in an insecure manner using predictable or easy to guess filenames. This can be exploited to escalate privileges to those of the user running Java Virtual Machine.
This has been reported to affect Sun Java j2re1.4.1_02 on Linux.
Solution: Do not use Java as a privileged user on system, where untrusted users also have access.
