Description: SGI has confirmed an older vulnerability, which potentially may allow malicious people to bypass firewall filters.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the TCP/IP implementation, since packets are not discarded if their destination IP address is a broadcast address as specified in RFC 1122 section 4.2.3.10. This could potentially make it possible for a malicious person to bypass firewall filters and connect to a service on a system by using the broadcast address.
Solution: Update to IRIX 6.5.17 or later.
