Description: Gentoo has issued an update for tomcat. This fixes a vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain knowledge of sensitive information.
The vulnerabilty is caused due to an access control error, because the directory "/opt/tomcat" is installed insecurely. This allows local users to gain access to files containing passwords.
Solution: Update Gentoo:
emerge sync
emerge tomcat
emerge clean
Alternatively, the permissions on the directory can be changed:
/etc/init.d/tomcat stop
chmod -R 750 /opt/tomcat/
/etc/init.d/tomcat start
