Description:
An information disclosure vulnerability has been reported in FileMaker Pro/Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to gain knowledge of sensitive information.

It has been reported that an obfuscated list of all database passwords is returned, when a client connects to the service. This is apparently done, because FileMaker depends on the client to check, whether a user supplied password is valid or not.

The vulnerability has been identified in the following versions:

FileMaker Pro 5.0/Windows 2000
FileMaker Pro 6.0/Windows 2000
FileMaker Server 5.5/Linux

Solution:
Reportedly, FileMaker has stated that the issue will be fixed in their next release.

Disable "multi user" or "TCP/IP" access to FileMaker databases, or filter traffic to ensure that only trusted machines are allowed to connect.
