Description: SGI has issued patches for IRIX to fix some old vulnerabilities in ToolTalk. These can all be exploited by malicious users to escalate their privileges to "root" on a vulnerable system.
Details about the four vulnerabilities, which were first published on 13. September 1999, can be seen in the CERT advisory referenced in the "Other References" section.
Solution: SGI IRIX version 6.5.x (prior to 6.5.18):
Apply patch 4915, or update to IRIX version 6.5.18 or later.
