Description:
HP has issued an update for HP-UX 11 CIFS/9000. This fixes a vulnerability, which can be exploited by remote users to gain root access.

It is unclear whether this is CAN-2003-0201 as described in:
http://secunia.com/advisories/8533/

Solution:
For HP-UX 11.0/11.11 a new version smbd.11.00.r1 is available from:
ftp://samba:samba@hprc.external.hp.c

There is no update for HP-UX 11.22. HP recommends that you disable the CIFS service until an update is available.
