Description:
A remotely exploitable buffer overflow has been identified in PoPToP.

The problem is that if the packet length is set to "0" or "1" then it is possible to fill an unlimited amount of data from the client to the "packet".

This can be exploited to gain system access on Linux systems using libc.
This vulnerability is not exploitable on Solaris and BSD based systems using glibc.

Solution:
This should be fixed in version 1.1.4-b3 and 1.1.3-20030409.:
