Description:
The Security Assurance Team of the National Australia Bank has reported a vulnerability in WebSphere Portal Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions.

The vulnerability is caused due to the administrative interface not properly restricting access to certain pages. This can be exploited to perform certain administrative actions via a specially crafted HTTP request.

The vulnerability is reported in IBM WebSphere Portal and Portal Express versions 5.1.0.0, 5.1.0.1, 5.1.0.2, 5.1.0.3, 5.1.0.4, 5.1.0.5, 6.0.0.0, 6.0.0.1, 6.0.1.0, 6.0.1.1, 6.0.1.3, 6.1.0.0.

Solution:
Update to version 6.0.1.4 or apply APAR PK67104 (please see vendor advisory for more information).
