Description:
Rodrigo Carvalho has reported a vulnerability in Apple iCal, which can potentially be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a use-after-free error e.g. when processing an .ics file and can be exploited to cause a memory corruption.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is reported in iCal 3.0.1, included in Mac OS X 10.5. Other versions may also be affected.

NOTE: Two null-pointer dereference errors, which can cause the application to crash have also been reported.

Apply Security Update 2008-003.
