|
|
Description: Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Symantec Web Security, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks or to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
1) An error when handling large files can be exploited to cause the system to slow down by using the license registering interface to submit a very large file.
2) Input passed to certain parameters in unspecified files is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user when displaying certain pages. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.
The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 3.0.1.85.
Solution: Update to version 3.0.1.85.
Provided and/or discovered by: The vendor credits Mikko Korppi.
Changelog: 2007-02-01: Added CVE reference.
