Description:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in SGI IRIX, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions on a vulnerable system with escalated privileges and disclose some sensitive information.

1) An error in gr_osview, where permissions are not correctly verified, can be exploited to write system usage information to arbitrary files via the "-s" option.

2) An error in gr_osview, where permissions are not correctly verified when opening description files specified by the user, can be exploited to disclose the first line of arbitrary files via the "-d" and "-D" options.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in IRIX version 6.5.21m, 6.5.21f, and 6.5.22 through 6.5.27.

Apply patches.
