Description:
Luigi Auriemma has reported a vulnerability in GoAhead WebServer, allowing malicious people to cause a Denial of Service.

The server fails to handle certain invalid HTTP POST requests where the value specified in the "Content-Length" header is larger than the actual amount of data. This causes the server process to enter an infinite loop consuming 100% CPU resources.

It is possible to view the source code of files by issuing a request where the slashes are replaced by "\", "%5c", or combinations hereof. This can be exploited to see the source of executable files in "cgi-bin", and it may also be possible to gain access to files in restricted folders.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 2.1.8 and prior.

Solution:
Use another product, or use a firewall or proxy server with filtering capabilities to block invalid requests.
