Description: KF has discovered a vulnerability in Outpost Firewall, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges on a vulnerable system.
The problem is that Outpost Firewall invokes "Options->Applications and plug-ins" and "Help" with SYSTEM privileges. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands on a system with escalated privileges.
The vulnerability has been reported in trial versions 1 and 2. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: The vulnerability has reportedly been fixed in version 2.5.
