Description: l0om has reported a vulnerability in AntiVIr, allowing malicious, local users to escalate their privileges on a vulnerable system.
The problem is that AntiVir creates a temporary file with a predictable filename based on its PID when started. This can be exploited to overwrite arbitrary files using a symlink attack.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 2.0.9-9 for Linux. Other versions may also be affected.
Solution: Do not use AntiVir on systems with untrusted users.
