Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in @mail, allowing malicious people to conduct Cross Site Scripting attacks and users to view the emails of other users.

1) It is possible view other users' mailboxes by manipulating the "Folder" parameter, because "showmail.pl" accepts user input without verification.

2) The scripts "atmail.pl", "search.pl", and "reademail.pl" fails to validate user input, which is used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate queries and potentially read arbitrary emails.

3) Users, who are logged in, can gain access to other users' mailboxes by manipulating the mailbox name in the session cookie.

4) The "Folder" parameter in "showmail.pl" can be used to conduct Cross Site Scripting due to lack of input validation.

Vulnerability 1 only affects systems with a flat text database. Vulnerability 2 only affects systems with a SQL database.

These vulnerabilities have all been reported in the 3.52 demo version for the Windows platform but may also affect production versions and versions for other platforms.

Solution:
Version 3.64 has been released with improved checks of SQL and user / path information.

Secunia recommend that you restrict access to ensure that only users from trusted IP addresses can access the system. Implement extra logging functionality on your web server so that abuse can be tracked.
