Description: A security issue has been reported in Gaim, which allows malicious people to see a user's local user name on a system.
Users are registered with both their nick name and the current user name on the local system when Gaim connects to an IRC server. Other IRC users can view this information by requesting information on a user.
The security issue has been reported in version 0.72.
Solution: Ensure that passwords are strong and that access to services requiring authentication is filtered.
