|
|
Description: Conectiva has issued updated packages for thttpd. These fix three older vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks and gain knowledge of sensitive information.
1) It is possible to read any file even though it is in a password protected directory or marked non world readable. This can only be exploited if the chroot option is enabled.
2) Certain error pages include user input without prior sanitation. This can be exploited to conduct Cross-Site Scripting attacks by requesting a non-existant page and include HTML or script code.
3) It is possible to read arbitrary files via a classic directory traversal attack in the "Host:" header.
Solution: Apply updated packages.
